Youth and Family Ministry Major
If your gifts and experiences draw you toward a lifetime connection to adolescents and their families, the Youth and Family Ministry major will equip you to serve Christ as you serve them. You will begin by digging into the life of personal discipleship and exploring your gifts, talents, and personality to understand the shape of effective youth ministry flowing from your own life.
You’ll get hands-on training in area churches and Christian organizations that involves you in transformation and gets you in on equipping others for youth ministry in a family context. Your perspective will be informed by the Wesleyan holiness tradition, focusing on transformation, Christlikeness, and compassion, and how young people can be examples for other believers in life, in faith and in purity (1 Timothy 4:12).
The Youth & Family Ministry major at MNU has many connections in the Kansas City area that make your college experience into something much bigger than a degree. Become connected with the Kansas City Urban Youth Youth Center, experience our cooperative with the Nazarene Theological Seminary, study abroad, spend a semester at the Youthfront School of Formation, serve at the Kansas City Rescue Mission or attend seminars at the Bresee Institute.
