The organization works to facilitate communication and collaboration between various educational organizations and learning communities.

As a member, you’ll be able to participate in fundraisers, special events and community service; you’ll also be eligible for special scholarships.

form a council of members to coordinate community service & other opportunities

Requirements for Good Standing

To be a PTCO member in good standing you are responsible for completing 2 hours of community service and 2 hours/points of fund raising for each semester. You need to attend 4 of the 6 meetings for the entire school year. PTCO secretary Anna Huff will be keeping attendance and points.

Constitution

Established in 2004, Revised in 2006

Article 1: Requirement of Members

Community service:
1. Each member is required to have 2 hours of community service per semester specifically for PTCO
2. These hours can count towards the Education Departments requirements for entry into the Teacher Education Program or for graduation.
3. Community Service hours done for the Education Department cannot be counted for PTCO hours
4. Suggested ideas: judging art and science fairs; Bible quiz masters; Volunteering at a Christian School
Fundraising:
1. Each member is required to have participated in 2 hours of PTCO fundraising per semester.
Meetings:
1. Each member of the PTCO is required to attend 4 out of the 6 meetings per year.

Article 1: Requirement of Members

President:
1. The Vice President from the previous year will become the President for the School year.
2. The President will lead the meetings, set the agenda, and meet with the sub group representatives and the council before each scheduled meeting.
3. The President will be a Senior that will serve for one school year.
4. The President will keep a notebook that will be passed to the next years President.
5. The President is required to complete the same requirements as a regular member
6. In the event that the Vice President is unable to fulfill Presidential duties the following year, the members of the PTCO will then nominate and elect a new President during the first meeting of the school year.

Vice President:
1. The Vice President will be elected by the members of the PTCO at the last meeting of the school year.
2. The Vice President will serve as the coordinator of Public Relations (i.e. notifying members of upcoming opportunities submitted by the sub group leaders)
3. The Vice President will be a Junior and during their Senior year will become the President. This decision was made to keep the continuity that would be developed from the previous year.
4. The Vice President is required to complete the same requirements as a regular member.
5. The Vice President will step in when the President is absent.
6. The Vice President will keep a notebook that will be passed on to next year’s Vice President.

Secretary:
1. The Secretary will be elected by the members of PTCO at the last meeting of the school year.
2. The Secretary will take minutes at the meetings and submit typed copies to the members and faculty advisors.
3. The Secretary will be in charge of publicity for meetings and other events
4. The Secretary is required to complete the same requirements as other members
5. The Secretary is to keep a database of all member requirements in order to determine members in good standing for certificates awarded at the annual education banquet.
6. The Secretary is required to keep a notebook that will be passed on to next year’s Secretary.

Treasurer:
1. The Treasurer will be elected by the members of PTCO at the last meeting of the School year.
2. The Treasurer will keep the bookkeeping of all the money collected or spent (i.e. Fundraisers)
3. The Treasurer is required to complete the same requirements as a regular member.
4. The Treasurer is required to meet monthly with the Vice President of ASG for Finances
5. The Treasurer is required to keep a notebook that will be passed on to next year’s Treasurer.
6. The Treasurer will provide a financial report at each meeting.

Historian:
1. The 2 Historians will be elected by the members of the PTCO at the first meeting of the school year.
2. The Historian’s job will be split between two students
3. The Historians will keep documentation through pictures, news articles, etc. of events in which members of PTCO participate.
4. The Historians are required to complete the same requirements as a regular member
5. The Historians are to keep a scrapbook and pass it on to the next Historians for continuation of recording memories of PTCO.

Article 3: Sub Groups

Service Projects:
1. This representative will serve as the chairman for this committee and work with members to plan service projects and find on going service projects in the area for members of PTCO.
2. This representative will be elected by the members of PTCO at the first meeting of the school year.
3. This representative will keep notebook that will pass on to the next year’s representative.
4. This representative is will meet regular membership requirements.
5. This representative will give a report at each meeting.

Fund Raisers:
1. This representative will serve as the chairman for this committee and work with members to plan fund raisers for PTCO.
2. This representative will be elected by the members of the PTCO at the first meeting of the school year.
3. This representative will meet regular membership requirements
4. This representative will give a report at each meeting.
5. This representative will keep a notebook that will pass on to the next year’s representative.

Professional Support:
1. This representative will serve as the chairman for this committee and work with members to find or plan opportunities for professional growth.
2. This representative will be elected by the members of the PTCO at the first meeting of the school year.
