Broadcasting

Minor

tvOffering a strong supplement to majors
such as Mass Communication, Marketing, Business/Communication or Theatre,
the minor in Broadcasting requires nineteen hours of coursework to complete, including workshops in: Radio Television Journalism.

You’ll also choose from courses in digital photography, video production, media editing, and magazine and feature article writing.
A minor in broadcasting prepares you in the most coveted of skill sets in communication today.

You’ll find great opportunities to put learning into practice at MidAmerica’s student-led campus media outlets. KMNU Radio is the campus radio station streaming on Channel 18. TV2 is our on-campus television network where students shoot, direct, produce and edit weekly shows. Our student newspaper, The Trailblazer Times, is also written and edited by students. Conestoga, the student yearbook, offers opportunities to participate in photography and production as well as writing and editing.

Whether you love the limelight or you are more of a behind the scenes kind of person, broadcasting can help you develop skills that propel careers beyond the norm.
