Political ScienceMinorUnderstanding the foundation and functioning of American government is key to becoming an informed and active citizen. No matter what your major, studying political science will be a valuable aspect of your education. Plus, the minor in Political Science offers a strong supplement to majors such as History, History and Government Education, Social Science, Journalism and more. The political science minor consists of six credit hours of political science courses, plus a four-month semester internship in Washington, DC, with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities American Studies Program. This internship fulfills another 16 credit hours. You can choose from courses such as democracy in America, comparative political systems, American political parties and more. Compare and contrast different political systems, explore the development of political parties in America, and learn about the political theories underlying various types of government. You can also explore your interest in politics by participating in student organizations such as Associated Student Government, Residence Hall Council or Students for Social Justice. |
