Programs

Traditional BSN Program

Designed for the traditional student to progress through four years of the college experience. Liberal arts and prerequisite nursing courses are taken during the first two years, with the junior and senior years providing emphasis on professional nursing education. The "early admit" option is available for academically high-achieving students.

Accelerated BSN Program

For the adult student with previous college experience, as well as LPNs and paramedics. This 12-month curriculum provides an opportunity to obtain the BSN degree through an accelerated plan of study. MNU has 20 years of experience with accelerated nursing education and was the first nursing program in Kansas to provide an accelerated option for the BSN degree.

RN to BSN Program

Planned with the working nurse in mind, the accelerated RN to BSN program provides an opportunity for Registered Nurses (RNs) to attend class one day per week and graduate with a BSN degree in just one calendar year. Classes are provided in 5-week modules, and students may begin the program at any time during the year. In addition to Olathe's campus, this program is offered at the Liberty, Mo. site as well.

MSN Program

Obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree will provide new opportunities of professional growth. Students will select one of two areas of emphasis: (1) Nursing Education or (2) Healthcare Administration. Classes are offered in seven-week modules, and students may begin the program at any time during the year. The program is designed to be completed in one-calendar year, however students may elect to complete coursework on a part-time basis.

MidAmerica's nursing program is part of the MidAmerica Nazarene University School of Nursing and Health Science. The RN to BSN and Undergraduate BSN nursing programs are approved by the Kansas State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The Department works closely with many healthcare agencies including Olathe Medical Center, St. Joseph Health Center, the Visiting Nurse Association, Children's Mercy Hospital, the University of Kansas Hospital, and the Kansas City Rescue Mission.

MNU also offers the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), with two available tracks: Healthcare Administration and Nursing Education.
