Criminal Justice Club
The purpose of the Criminal Justice Club is to offer individuals interested in the criminal justice system a wide variety of programs and activities.
The Criminal Justice Club works to recognize and promote scholarship among students engaged in preparation for professions in the criminal justice system, and provide a forum for keeping abreast of new developments in criminal justice.
The Criminal Justice Club offers fun and exciting activities to all criminal justice majors. Activities include special speakers from area criminal justice agencies, tours of state prisons, federal prison in Leavenworth, juvenile detention centers, federal/state/juvenile courts, and federal/state/local law enforcement agencies.

- March, 2000 - Attended the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences meeting in New Orleans.
- December 7, 1999 - Tour of Juvenile Detention Center.
- November 9, 1999 - Touring the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth
- October 21, 1999 - Invited Mike Smith, FBI agent from Arkansas, to visit CJ students and speak in the criminal law class
- October 13, 1999 - Dallas, Tx police officer spoke to cj students concerning police issues. Nov. 9th, visit Leavenworth Federal Prison.
- October 5, 1999 - Sponsored the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department for lunch and recruiting on campus
- September 11, 1999 - the club hosted a tailgate party for the first football game.
- 1999 Plans - Plans for 1999 include a trip to Dallas, Texas in April to tour jails, FBI, Dallas PD, and other events like a Texas Rangers baseball game; tours at Leavenworth Penitentiary; law enforcement appreciation day; federal courts in Kansas City; and some parties and picnics.
- December 1998 - Criminal Justice Christmas party. Lots of fun, food, fellowship.
- November 20, 1998 - Randy Price, administrator at the Tipton Correctional Facility for Men, spoke to students concerning current issues in inmate classification and other issues affecting corrections today.
- November 1998 - Criminal Justice students attended the American Society of Criminology meeting in Washington D.C.. While in Washington the group toured the Supreme Court, FBI, CIA, and all of the other tourist sights there.
- October 15-17, 1998 - Provided security for the University Autumn Auction.
- October 1998 - Sponsored a two day seminar for area criminal justice agencies. The seminar addressed the topic of psychological profiling of offenders. Gary Plank, nationally known consultant with the Nebraska State Police, conducted the seminar.
- September 19, 1998 - Participated in county-wide training exercise for simulated disaster. The training included law enforcement, rescue units, and fire marshal personnel.
- September 10, 1998 - Kent Harris, from the Bomb Squad Unit of the Fire Marshal's office, presented information about clandestine methamphetamine laboratories.
- April 1997 - Olathe Police K-9 demonstration outside of the campus center.
- March 1997 - Lt. Pruett, Olathe Police Department, spoke to students concerning current issues in law enforcement management.
- January 1997 - Juvenile Delinquency class toured the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center.
