Most teaching methodology classes at MidAmerica Nazarene University are directly linked to labs and practicums. Students learn how to teach and then get the opportunity to try it out in an actual classroom. Most students have clocked 100 hours in school settings before they ever begin their formal student teaching. Labs and practicum experiences are sequenced so that students begin with simple observations in early labs and progress through various stages, teaching in later labs. These labs and practicums build confidence and insure success in student teaching.
