Fine Arts

The Division of Fine Arts offers majors in graphic design, music and music
education, minors in art, graphic design, music and church music, and an AA
degree in church music. Course offerings include Applied Music, Art, Music Ministry,
Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Music, Music Education, Music Ensemble, Music History,
and Music Theory.
Divisional Objectives:
- To acquaint the students with Western art and music.
- To facilitate students' appreciation of ethnic music and the multi-cultural characteristics of national and world societies that contribute to these diverse genre.
- To develop within students the knowledge and skills necessary to encourage creativity within school, church and/or community.
- To encourage students to value artistic expression and the commitment required to obtain artistic skill.
- To assist in the formation of critical standards in harmony with Christian ethics.
- To prepare students to continue in the study of music at the graduate level.
MidAmerica Nazarene University is an accredited institutional member of
the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). Students
who wish to earn a baccalaureate degree in music may choose from
music, church music, independent/applied music, music education
or performance. Students interested in a music industry emphasis
are encouraged to major in music with a minor in business administration.
