Alumni Award Winners 2006-07
The 2006 recipients of the Alumna and Alumnus of the Year awards and the Carry the Torch award have been announced by the MNU Alumni Association.Carry the Torch Award: John Oster

John Oster (‘00)
As pastor of bus ministries and compassionate ministries at College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Oster has one of the most vital outreach roles in the church. Each week the bus ministry serves at least 130 individuals, many of whom are unchurched, from low-income neighborhoods, and single parent homes.
“The bus ministry is a tool to get our foot in the door and minister to unchurched families who are experiencing poverty and brokenness,” Oster said. “My heart goes out to the people we minister to. They are really broken by despair and sin and poverty. I see the challenges they have and believe that if we can be Jesus Christ to them, they’ll begin to see how He can help meet their challenges.”
