Current Scholarship Recipient
2007-2008 Phi Delta Lambda Scholarship Winner:
Brandon Chapman
Brandon Chapman is the 2007-2008 school year, MNU Phi Delta Lambda (PDL) scholarship recipient. Brandon, an Olathe native, has a dual major – Biology and Chemistry. After graduation Brandon plans to work in Emergency Medical Services, as he prepares for medical school.
When asked what Brandon enjoyed most about his time at MNU, he said, "Forming close friendships in the lively MNU community have been life changing. The private instruction from the caring faculty forms a great learning environment."
Brandon completed the required twenty service hours, at Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene. While there, he attended outreach activities with immigrants and new US citizens, for whom the church was providing both community and fellowship. Brandon met and spoke with people from China, Japan, Ethiopia, Iran, Mexico, and El Salvador. One of his favorite activities was a third through sixth grade lock-in, about which Brandon recalled, "I enjoyed relating with the kids, sharing a devotional and playing kickball and games with the kids."
Brandon said he was thankful for his PDL scholarship and the opportunity to serve at Risen Lamb Church. He felt PDL was an outlet where he could further use his talents and develop experiences that will lead him into future service.
