Kansas Board of Regents

Kansas Comprehensive Grant (KCG)

The KCG is a need-based grant awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have lived in Kansas for at least one year without attending any college. The grant is up to $3000 per year and is available for up to eight (8) semesters. Students must complete their FAFSA on the web by April 1 to be considered for this grant. (MNU suggests completing the FAFSA before March 1 to meet the college’s priority date.)

Kansas State Scholarship

The Kansas State Scholarship is a need-based scholarship awarded to full-time undergraduate students who graduated from a Kansas High School (or completed home schooling in Kansas) and were designated as Kansas Scholars by the Kansas Board of Regents. Criteria for designation include ACT score, high school GPA, and completion of the Kansas Scholars Curriculum. The award amount is up to $1000 per year and can be received up to eight (8) semesters.

The FAFSA on the web and the Kansas State Financial Aid Application must be completed by May 1st to receive priority awarding. MNU receives the names of potential recipients from the Board of Regents in late April or early May and determines each student’s eligibility. The Kansas State Scholarship is then awarded to the qualifying students.

Kansas State Nursing Service Scholarships

The Kansas State Nursing Service Scholarship is a need-based scholarship awarded to full-time Kansas resident undergraduate students in the nursing program (junior or senior level) by the Kansas Board of Regents. The award amount is up to $3500 per year. Students need to secure a sponsoring medical center and apply using the FAFSA on the web and the Kansas State Financial Aid Application by May 1. MNU is notified by the Board of Regents during June or July of the recipients for the year. A student receiving the award agrees to work for one (1) year for each year the scholarship is received in the sponsoring medical center. Check the Kansas Board of Regents website for more information.

Kansas State Teachers Service Scholarships

The Kansas State Teacher Service Scholarships are awarded to Kansas resident students who study education and are planning to teach in the State of Kansas. The amounts vary. There are scholarships for students planning to teach in certain geographic areas, in certain academic areas, and to certain student populations in Kansas. The FAFSA on the web and Kansas State Financial Aid Application must be completed by May 1 to qualify for these scholarships. Check the Kansas Board of Regents website for more information.
