Rachel Ryden
Head Coach
Former MidAmerica volleyball player Rachel (Frederick) Ryden begins the 2006 season as the new Lady Pioneer Head Volleyball Coach. Rachel, a 2003 MNU graduate, has been coaching and teaching at Nampa High School in Nampa, ID. She is currently attending Northwest Nazarene University completing a masters degree in Exceptional Child and will graduate in May of 2006. She has been teaching Special Education in Reading, English, and Adaptive Physical Education.

Rachel Ryden is married to Ben Ryden, who is also a MidAmerica Nazarene University graduate. Both are excited to be a part of the Olathe community again. Rachel will join the MidAmerica staff this summer. She replaces three year Head Coach Ken Carver who stepped down to pursue other interests.

Coach Ryden is very excited to be a part of the MidAmerica team. She states, "I am so excited to be back at MidAmerica. It is a wonderful university with professors and staff that truly care about the students that attend. I had such a wonderful experience at MNU and have had a desire to come back to assist other individuals in their experience. I feel privileged to be a part of MidAmerica's mission. I am looking forward to developing a strong Christ centered volleyball program."

Tiphanie Bohi
JV Head Coach
Former MNU volleyball player Tiphanie (White) Bohi will be the new Head Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach for the 2006 season. While at MNU she saw some time as an outside hitter and then played back row and libero for the remainder of her volleyball career. Tiphanie, graduated with her bachelor's degree in Business/Psychology in 2004, and went from there to get her masters in Counseling from MNU and will graduate in October of 2006. During that time she has been an assistant coach for the Lady Pioneer softball team in 2005 and 2006. Coaching is definitely a passion in her life along with her husband Josh Bohi who also attended MNU. They are expecting a child in January and look forward to welcoming the new addition to their family.

Coach Bohi is excited to be joining the MNU volleyball program once again. "I hope this season will be not only a growing experience for the girls in relation to volleyball but also a time of growth in their relationship with Christ."

Becky Brents
Varsity Assistant
Former MNU volleyball player Becky Brents is in her 2nd year as Assistant Varsity Coach. Becky graduated from MNU in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. She has coached at the high school level for two years before becoming part of the MNU staff. She is currently the Resident Educator for Spindle Hall on campus.
