Vision for Chapel

Chapel is a central part of our “MidAmerica experience,” as the campus community gathers together to read the Word, to offer its praise to God, to remember how God has saved us in the past and to anticipate how God will continue to move on our behalf in the future.  Students are empowered to self-select how they participate in their own spiritual formation via chapel as they participate in the various chapel services throughout the week. Greater emphasis is placed on Tuesday chapel, in terms of the ability to receive greater chapel credit, thus drawing the majority of the members of our community together at Tuesday chapel services.  It is our belief that as the entire community is gathered together in these chapel services, the Spirit of God is shaping us both as individuals and as a body into the likeness of Christ.  In this way, as we are being shaped individually and corporately into the likeness of Christ, a common story is being told in the community by the Spirit of God, which offers us a common experience in how we participate in the world outside of chapel.
