"My talents and skills
should be used in our to build up God's kingdom."

Most athletes dream of making it big — NFL, NBA, MLB — playing their game for all to see. Few dream of leading from the sidelines, but that is exactly what Jacob Gill has in mind.

“I was always involved in athletics and my coaches have had a major role in my life.” Fact is, Jacob credits his coaches with not only teaching him about the games he loves, but also the life he wants to live. A standout member of the MNU baseball team, volunteer and leader for different church activities, and mission trip veteran, Jacob took their lessons to heart.

“I always want to be passionate about what I’m doing and to remember the reasons why I do what I love,” related Jacob. “My talents and skills should be used in order to build up God’s kingdom and not my own.” Using his athletic talents, Jacob plans to honor God the same way his coaches did — by influencing high school or collegiate athletes to be at their best in competition and in life.

Jacob’s coaches aren’t the only ones he appreciates for getting him to MNU. “Growing up in a single-parent family, there was never a lot of money to spread around. I worked hard on and off the field, but without people giving generously, I would not have been able to attend MNU. Scholarships have been such a blessing in my life.”
