As a business education teacher, you’ll teach students about topics like economics, personal finances, resume preparation, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and making the most of today’s technology. It’s a great way to help young adults learn more about the business world—and how they can responsibly manage their own finances. As a student in MNU’s Business Education program, you’ll take professional education courses, mastering issues like classroom management, curriculum development, educational media, cultural diversity, and working with exceptional learners. Then, you’ll also take business courses like finance, macroeconomics, accounting, marketing, management, international business and more. These courses are supplemented by a broad selection of general courses in communication, languages, math and history, ensuring that every one of our teacher education graduates can demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in the classroom. Clubs & OrganizationsPi Lambda Theta Pi Lambda Theta, our Education Honors Club, is an international professional association for educators. Join to help promote academic excellence, develop your leadership skills and access professional opportunities. Professional Teacher Candidate Organization This local umbrella organizations is devoted to helping teacher candidates become professional leaders. The organization works to facilitate communication and collaboration between various educational organizations and learning communities. As a member, you’ll be able to participate in fundraisers, special events and community service; you’ll also be eligible for special scholarships. Phi Beta Lambda This national association is an extension of Future Business Leaders of America, helping students build connections between classroom learning and the real-world business community. Join Phi Beta Lambda to benefit from participation in state and national academic competitions and yearly trips to major cities. Scholarships & Financial AidThe Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to full-time students who plan to teach in schools that serve low-income families. To be eligible, you must complete the FAFSA and meet certain academic achievement requirements. InternshipsStudents gain experience through field work – teaching practice in actual classrooms.
