In her pre-MNU days she was a public school elementary and middle school teacher. In addition to classroom teaching, Professor Lamar is the faculty adviser for our program's professional teacher candidate organization; PTCO. She is also the faculty adviser for our program's honor society the Gamma Chi Chapter of Pi Lambda Theta. For the past 3 years Dr. Lamar and her husband, MNU Men's basketball Coach Rocky Lamar have led the work and witness trip to Sun Valley Indian School where teacher candidates are given the chance to serve in the Navajo classrooms and MNU athletes are given the chance to serve in sports camps. For more information about any of these opportunities please refer to Moodle's Teacher Education Information Center or contact Dr. Lamar.

Proud to be a Pioneer! - In addition to teaching at MNU, Jo Lamar is an MNU alum, an MNU parent, an MNU PAA member, an MNU scholarship donor, and a MNU Women's Auxiliary member. She and her husband live in Olathe. Their daughter, Sarah Lamar, is the theater teacher at Gardner Edgerton High School. Their son, daughter-in-law, and genius grandson live in Phoenix, Arizona. If you can't find Jo in her office, she is probably in Phoenix kissing her grandson, Jared Rhys Lamar.
