Perk Coneptual Framework

The SWPRSC/PERK Mentor and Literacy coaches, in collaboration with the MNU grant personnel developed a conceptual framework and statement of purpose to represent the goals of the PERK grant project.

PERK Grant Statement of Purpose:

The goal of the PERK Literacy program is to provide a framework to support and enhance secondary content knowledge through literacy strategies.

PERK Grant Conceptual Framework: (a work in progress)

The CASL image is a visual representation of the grant’s four initiatives discussed in the statement of purpose.

 

C = Content knowledge integration with literacy skills

A = Assessment data which guides the choice of strategies;

S = Strategies based on research in best practices, that address the assessment results;

L = Literacy Skills addressed in each district by Literacy Cadres provide the foundation ofthe model. Literacy Cadres are made up of teachers who fulfill the role of literacy and mentor coaches.
