Inauguration of Dr. David J. Spittal

Homecoming 2012 is a very special event, as it is paired with the inauguration of Dr. David J. Spittal as MNU's fifth president. You won't want to miss this chance to welcome Dr. Spittal to MNU and hear what he has in store for the University.The events associated with Dr. Spittal's Inaguration are:

Homecoming Banquet
Featuring Comedian Michael Joiner
You won't want to miss the annual Homecoming Dinner Celebration in Uphaus Hall at College Church. In addition to great food and Alumni Awards presentations, this year's event will include entertainment provided by Michael Joiner. Michael was first place winner of the Hollywood Improv's "Funniest Comic in L.A." in 2008, and 2010 Christian Music Hall of Fame "Comedian of the Year" nominee. He has attracted wide praise for his routines that blend sarcastic edginess with a devotion to clean humor. Michael has been performing comedy nationwide for over 18 years. Recently, he has also played the lead role opposite Oscar winner Louis Gosset, Jr., in Sony/Provident's powerful drama, "The Grace Card."
Late Night Under the Big Tent
Hang out with your friends under the Big Tent in the Pioneer Stadium parking lot at Friday night's late night event! There will be wood-fired pizza, soft drinks and an open mic performance by comedian Michael Joiner. The event is free, so you will have no excuse to miss it!
Third Annual Pioneer Rib Cook-Off and BBQ Competition

Enjoy great food and competition at the Rib Cook-Off and BBQ Competition under the Big Tent in the Pioneer Stadium parking lot. Great prizes are available for the winning team, and everyone gets a chance to share the amazing food!
Class Reunions
2012 marks reunions for the Classes of 2007, 2002, 1997, 1992, 1987, 1982, 1977, and the first ever 40 Year Reunion for the Class of 1972. The Pioneer Class Reunions for '72 - '75 are a very special occasion, so if you are a graduate of the Pioneer Class, make sure you don't miss this landmark event! All class reunions should check in under the Big Tent. Reunions will take place in the Bell Cultural Events Center. Kids activities and inflatables will be available near the Big Tent.

Communiversity

Communiversity is a free lecture series designed to provide access to university alumni of note, and to promote innovation and scholarship. It is held during MNU Homecoming each year and the public is invited to attend. This year, MNU welcomes alumnus
Philip White ('04) as guest lecturer at the 2012 Communiversity series. Philip is the author of the critically acclaimed book
Our Supreme Task: How Winston Churchill's Iron Curtain Speech Defined the Cold War Alliance. He is also a regular contributor to the
Huffington Post and the publications of Boston University's Historical Society. Philip, an MNU graduate in the class of 2004, lives in Olathe, with his wife and two sons.
