Welcome to MNU. Whether you are a freshman, transfer or returning student we want you to know that we are glad you have chosen MNU. For students in the class of 2015, we hope New Student Orientation (NSO) on August 27 to 29 will help you acclimate to your new home away from home. During your three days of orientation you’ll attend informational, academic, and social activities designed to maximize the success of your transition to college and the MNU community. You will get to know the people who can assist you in class, in the residence halls, and in administrative offices. We also hope you will have a lot of fun. For more information about NSO visit www.mnu.edu/nso. Your family may want to know that we take your safety seriously. Associate Dean for Residential Life Kristi Keeton invites the Olathe Fire Department to NSO each year to present information on fire and vehicle safety. MNU’s Safety Department also informs students what to do in case of emergency and how to reach someone who can help. “We want students to feel comfortable seeking our assistance and to realize we are on the job 24-7,” says MNU director of campus safety Emil Shellack. During the first week of classes we hold Welcome Week. Along with social activities like The White Tent Event, Late Night Breakfast and Root Beer Fest, you’ll want to attend our annual Community Fair. Held in the campus mall, the Community Fair is an opportunity for Olathe organizations large and small to distribute information on their services to the MNU student body. Additionally, many organizations tap into this resource to recruit new employees. This year the Community Fair will be held on September 1 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Fall semester classes at MNU begin on August 30. If you have questions or need assistance please read below for how to access the information you need. Best wishes on a fantastic academic year!
