“Non-profit budgets are tighter than ever, making grants an ever increasingly important means to gain funding,” says Whitney Gray, MNU grants coordinator. Non-profit professionals and others can learn how to find these funds in a workshop sponsored by MNU’s Graduate Studies in Management on February 28-March 1.

“When giving from private individuals declines, it is so important for nonprofit organizations to diversify their revenue streams,” Gray states. “Grant funding, can provide much-needed financial resources.”

Dr. Barbara Andres, a management consultant with 23 years of non-profit leadership experience, will help workshop participants improve skills in the areas of time management, delegation, team work, grant searches and written communication.

Dr. Andres’ workshop will not be a lecture,” says Dr. Alex Hapka, chair of Graduate Studies in Management. “She’ll engage each participant in the grant writing process. At the end of this course each participant who actively works through the course workbook will have an outline of their grant with several sections of written material.”

The workshop will be held in the Eby Building at 13795 S. Mur-Len Road, just East of MNU’s Olathe Campus on February 28 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. to noon on March 1. Cost for the workshop is $150 and includes lunch on the first day.
