#MNUGivingTuesday projects include:

Student Scholarships

Scholarships Project | Giving TuesdayAt MNU, the University Fund supports student scholarships. University Fund gifts help bridge the gap between the cost of a college education and what our students can afford.

Over 95% of our traditional undergraduate students rely on scholarships to attend MNU. As loans and financial aid become increasingly scarce, more students need the scholarships your donations make available through the University Fund. Now is your chance to pay it forward for a future Pioneer!

Goal: 150 Donors

Passion to Serve Project

Passion to Serve Project | Giving TuesdaySince 2009 MNU students and community members have taken on an annual Passion to Serve Project. Our 2016-17 project is “LQVE Haiti,” a partnership with Heart to Heart International and the communities of southeast Haiti.

Your donations to this project will support the Cascade Pichon Community School that was constructed in 2015 by supporting local teachers and nurses, providing leadership training and developing an educational program for new entrepreneurs including training in microfinance, credit management and accounting.

Goal: 100 Donors

Professional & Graduate Lending Library

Professional & Graduate Lending Library Project | Giving TuesdayMNU has more than 600 adult students earning their bachelor’s or master’s degree or a certificate. Many of these adults find it difficult to purchase textbooks while balancing other responsibilities such as tuition, home payments and family expenses. The Professional & Graduate Lending Library bridges this gap by providing textbooks for approximately 15 business courses.

By raising $2,500, the School of Professional & Graduate Studies will be able to add 41 more textbooks to their Lending Library. The best part? Gifts to this project help multiple students, because the books can be shared again and again!

Goal: 50 Donors

Aquaponics Lab

Aquaponics Lab Project | Giving TuesdayAquaponics is the joining of aquaculture and hydroponics, raising fish and plants together, to create a sustainable food source. This project will fund the development of an aquaponics system at MNU to educate students about sustainable food production by growing food in an environmentally friendly manner. Start-up costs are projected to be $1,500; raising a total of $5,000 for this project will make it self-sustaining after three years.

Much of the food grown from this project will be donated to local food banks, giving students the opportunity to participate in service learning, helping the community while learning about sustainability and responsible food production.

Nursing Faculty Continuing Education

Nursing Faculty Scholarships Project | Giving TuesdayIt is vitally important that professors teaching in the nursing and health science fields remain current in both their science and in the science of education. Professional conferences are important opportunities for MNU nursing faculty to learn the latest interventions and techniques to keep classroom content current. Sending a nursing or health science faculty member to a national conference costs approximately $1,000.

Your gift will help us send five nursing faculty to the 16th Annual Nurse Educator Institute in Branson, MO in April of 2017. Help us ensure that MNU nursing and health science students will be taught the newest evidence-based techniques!

Goal: 50 Donors
