*Without a Kansas license, one may still obtain a master’s degree in Adaptive Special Education, however it does not lead to a Kansas SPED license. This would be appropriate for a teacher in a private school setting that may not be required to hold a Kansas license. In-service teachers with a current Kansas license can apply for a provisional SPED license after successfully completing the first three courses. Provisionally licensed teachers must maintain enrollment to retain the provisional license.
An individual who does not meet regular admission requirements, but who desires to pursue work leading to a Master of Education degree at MidAmerica Nazarene University, may be permitted to enroll conditionally in a limited number of graduate courses. Regular status may be gained after removal of deficiencies and/or completion of acceptable work at MidAmerica Nazarene University of not fewer than six semester hours of graduate study.
All courses are offered in a paperless environment. Students are expected to have a laptop computer and an iPad. Courses are taught using an online Learning Management System and can be offered either online or on-land.
