The day I lost my dignity

Hello my blogging friends, Last week, the blogging team was given a challenge. This challenge was to share a moment of vulnerability to enhance reading experience. You’ll have to let me know if this works in the comment section. Without further adieu, I present The Day I Lost My Dignity: A story of fear, heartache, and embarrassment. One time last year, I was feeling a little loopy. I had stayed up all night one Monday attempting to get a project done in the 24 hour lab, one of the feature’s in the library on campus. I had classes that day,[…]

Let’s talk about life, baby!

I know, it’s a rare occasion when I speak of my personal life on here, but this week has been hectic, and I thought I’d share with you. First, and foremost, I don’t know how many of you know this, but my passion in life is to get my book published. It seems impossible–with studies, work, and school–but I somehow managed to write and finish a book this past year. I’ve been praying about this book for over a year, and I wasn’t sure how to end it, or if I actually wanted to get it published. For awhile, I[…]

rend collective experiment

Hey guys! Last night I went to a Rend Collective Concert in Grandview Missouri. (Which is about 25 minutes from MNU) IT.WAS.AWESOME. Seriously. If you’ve never heard of them before, go look them up. Now. This wasn’t really a concert, it was more of a worship celebration. Irish style. :] Yes, all of them are from Ireland, and they celebrate Christ in such a way that I’ve never experienced. There was this one guy who had a stick that had all sorts of gadgets on it and he would hit it on the ground and go all around the stage. I have no idea[…]

Seize The Day

Hello friends, So it is nearly approaching midnight and life is pretty good right now.  Today a theme has been placed in my mind that I thought would be good to share. Seize The Day  So often we just go through day by day thinking about what we are going to do next… your next class, your plans for the evening, and what not…  And so often we miss the opportunities that are constantly surrounding us.  What if we got off our iPhones, and started seeing who was around us who needs to see the love of Christ. So often[…]

11 thoughts

So yeah, just 11 thoughts that I wanted to share. Here they are written out: 11. It’s always a frightening moment when you’re not sure if all that came out was just gas. 10. There is no “morning after” or regret when a person follows Christ. (Without going into any details, there have frankly been times in my life when I woke up in the morning wishing I had made different decisions the previous day.) 9. Faith, particularly faithfulness to Him, is risky. 8. Vulnerability too is risky; but I have found that the reward far outweighs the cost. 7.[…]

Don’t Panic in the Pool

Welcome to Life. Here we provide ups, downs, loops, and a few corkscrews. I know what you’re all wondering; where’s the map to get around this giant? Wellllll, let me tell you. There isn’t one. (per say: let’s be real, the Bible gives answers in example and truth) Day to day life can be full of surprises, letdowns, build-ups, and utterly devastating moments. As cliche as it sounds, how you react is key. Let’s say you’re driving without insurance, accidentally, and you kind of bump into another person’s bumper. WHAT TO DO?!?! Keep calm and be an adult. My mom[…]

Update! Update! Random blog post coming through!

We’re a good week into school, and, well, I figured I’d go ahead and post a random blog! Because, really, who doesn’t love randomness??? First, I’d like to show everyone my new room arrangements! I love this set up, it’s soo homey. Also, on the same note, I got a new roommate this semester. She’s quite awesome. I’ll have to do an interview on her one of these days. In other news, for those of you curious as to what my schedule looks like……here’s a picture of it! Basically, I have four classes on Monday and Wednesday–these classes start at[…]

The wind and the waves

Hello friends! So this week was the first week back from break. First week of classes, and first week of stress. Let me tell you, it was a little overwhelming for me. I’m the type of person that when I look at all the things I have to accomplish, even if a homework assignment isn’t due for another two weeks, or maybe not even homework, maybe something in my life that I’m just dwelling on a lot, I freak out and get really anxious. So this has been my life this week. But I also wanted to share with you guys the lesson I[…]

Make it Like Your Birthday Everyday

I’d like to start this blog off wishing myself a happy birthday, as it was on Tuesday. And then I’ll wish my birthday twin Will a happy birthday, too. …And then the same for my bestie Konner whose birthday is today!! And next but no less important than those above, I’d like to wish my roommate Ashley a happy birthday, because anytime any of her friends have a birthday, she claims it for herself and accepts gifts. …aaaaaaaaand Finally, I’d like to thank Katy Perry for writing the song “Birthday” which trumps 22 by T-Swift. (go listen) So I turned 22[…]
