Motivated and Rejuvenated to Finish the Final 4 Weeks

Spring Break Work & Witness Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic.   A Work and Witness Mission Trip is a no brainer great way to spend time, money, and resources. No regrets have I heard any person say they have after going and serving on one. MNU offers several every single year. And if you don’t think you’d like to do one of those, you can go with churches all around this area, Living Hope Church of the Nazarene in particular is going back to the DR next June!!   And Now, School life, assignments, pages to be read, and[…]

Just Stop and Learn to Be on the Beach: Life Update

Hello friends! So these last couple of weeks have been action-packed to say the least.  Last week was spring break and it was definitely much needed.  Because all my professors felt like pushing all of their exams and papers to the week before break, the week off felt so sweet.  The weather in Kansas was all over the place, at least so I heard.  I was in Texas with my family which was amazing! (60-70 degree weather days, it can’t get more perfect) And for all you mid-westerners who haven’t seen the beach in quite sometime, here is the beach[…]

“..Let’s Pack Up and Move to California..”

Life is full of decisions to be made.  As you sit at the mind numbing computer screen you may be facing the dilemma of finishing your homework…or possibly finishing that episode of Prison Break. More seriously you may be deciding between colleges, jobs, living situations, etc. How do we often find the answers to these pivotal points? Perhaps a pro/con list, ask friends, of course pray, overall we assess the situation and weigh the options. Which one is more beneficial to me? While of course weighing options and evaluating consequences is necessary, sometimes you just need to do something. I tend to think[…]

Well, I definitely wasn’t expecting this…

It started out slowly–almost like a whisper. Then, throughout the morning/afternoon, it grew louder. The pain intensified. It was like a burning sensation in my ankle. Whenever I put pressure on it, It felt like someone was taking needles, setting them on fire, and digging them into my ankle. Why must pain like this exist? There was a moment–a few moments, actually–when I assumed I was imagining the pain. I thought, “Britney, this has got to be in your head. There is no way that this is real.” But it was real. It was real, and it was consuming me.[…]

spring break shennanigans

Hey friends! So I tried posting a blog last weekend, but for some reason the whole thing disappeared. So I hope you guys see this one! :] Last week was SPRING BREAK. Most people from MNU went to cool places like Florida, or Houston, or Africa, or anywhere else in the world. I definitely just went back home. Wichita, Kansas that is. Even though I didn’t go anywhere awesome, I did really enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. We caught up on life, watched movies, and went to Starbucks… A LOT. I have about 4 or 5 of my closest[…]

Mother Daughter Weekend… And So Much More

Hello friends! So it is finally SPRING BREAK! Woo! I am going to keep this short for you all, so you can go out and enjoy your break! A couple of weekends ago I got the opportunity to go to Mother Daughter weekend here at MNU.  It was so much fun, and there was a lot of good work put into it!  Reflecting on this, it really made me think about how many awesome events we have on campus. I had a friend come by from another college to visit.  She took one look at our calendar in my hall,[…]

What a Romantic Relationship Taught Me About Following Jesus.

So I confess that over the past 3 weeks I had only read the Bible on my own 3 or 4 of those days. That’s not the wisest decision since the spirit or soul needs nourishment just as the physical body needs it. While spiritual nourishment can come from a variety of ways. God is not limited to only revealing Himself through the Bible. For He definitely speaks through people and He also can communicate to us through prayer. YET, there is something unique about Scripture. When we read it appropriately we are letting God do the talking. I was once told by my youth pastor[…]

Spring Into Classes (The Four Year Plan)

Classes are the best part of your day, right? If the answer to that question is yes–kuddos to you. For me, it’s definitely not applicable. For the most part, I like my classes, I do. I really like the learning part, but, at this point, I’m just so ready to get out of my general education courses. I’m ready to dig into the niddy-griddy, and start my Cooperate Communication courses!  (check out my major right here!) One thing they don’t tell you about college is constructing your four-year-plan. A four-year-plan is basically a map of classes you have taken and[…]
