17 days!!

Hello Friends! I came to the realization today that my freshman year of college is almost over. It’s insane to think about how fast this first year has gone. The feeling is bittersweet! I know there are going to be many exciting things to come in the near future, but it’s crazy how fast these good times have gone by. So yes, there are 17 more days left until summer, counting the weekends. I am SO very excited to finish off the school year and head into more adventures these next couple of months. I am definitely striving to finish strong with my school work and[…]

Behind The Scenes of MNU’s Production: Little Women

Hello friends! I hope you all have had a great week! It has been so nice out here in Olathe… 77 degrees today!  If that doesn’t put you in a good mood I don’t know what will! Here is a video from MNU’s production this spring of “Little Women”.  The staff was so kind to let me in back stage to get the inside scoop for all you blog people out there! So here it is! P.S. if you are interested, MNU has a great theater (theatre?) program! 🙂 Last fall they produced a musical “Annie Get Your Gun” which[…]

Pioneer Day!!!!

***The video above is from two years ago! (Yes, I’m in it…) Incoming freshman, you should be pumped for one thing, specifically, this summer. And that, my friends, is Pioneer day! Whoo! I know a lot of you have been asking about what it is and when it is, so today’s blog is directed toward that specifically. The What: Pioneer day is a pre-enrollment day for incoming students and freshman. At this lovely event you will have the chance to register for classes, complete the registration process for next fall, meet your future roommate, or get a roommate! During this[…]

Oh the places you’ll go… On campus

Hey there, Bloggers! So last week I made a video about the places to hang out on campus featuring a few MNU students. It’s a different approach than the “typical student” would take to introduce you to common spaces on campus, so I hope it’ll keep you entertained for at least a minute and 49 seconds. At the end is my roommate’s reaction to a prank we pulled on her last week. Enjoy!

an MNU filled weekend

Hey friends! So I just want to brag on our faculty here at MNU for a second. First of all, they are loving, caring, kind, fun, funny, and really want to be a part of your life. I say this because I went to a baseball game this weekend with Lisa Downs and we had a blast! There were also many other faculty members there that made it so fun. I also love that they come and support us at whatever it is we are doing. I always see faculty and staff at sporting events, choir shows and many other events[…]

The Final Countdown: One Month of School Left

Hello friends! It has been another crazy week to say the least!  But knowing that summer is only a short month away has been keeping me going!  Which is absolutely insane! Where did the time go?  This semester literally flew by and we still have Easter Break! The bad news about only having a month left (besides leaving all your best friends) is the end of year crams.  Grades need to be up, and there is the stress to do well on every assignment, test, quiz, paper left!  (P.S. The final countdown guy is awesome) If you are anything like[…]

A Short Blog Post (And an Update on the foot!)

Good News, Ya’ll! I don’t have GOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise, Jesus. Bad News: I have tendinitis, and it still hurts. Last Thursday, I went to the clinic on 175th street (which was really cheap for a broke college student who doesn’t have insurance) and was correctly diagnosed with Tendinitis, and if any of ya’ll are familiar with it, you know how much it hurts. So I was on bed rest for four days–it was terrible. However, in those four days, my foot healed enough for me to walk on it without using crutches. This was a plus, but I still have to[…]

Red Bus Project

Hey Bloggers! It’s been a while. Yesterday, MNU made the headlines! The Red Bus Project stopped by and set up shop. From their website: WHAT IS THE RED BUS PROJECT? We’re driving a double decker bus-turned-mobile thrift store from college to college, spreading awareness about the needs of orphans and raising money for orphan care. WHY? Because millions of orphans around the world need a family. Together we can give them a voice. HOW DOES IT WORK? Donate your best clothes, buy clothes on the bus and invite all your friends to join the Red Bus Project. The funds raised[…]

antiqueing and sports

Hello blog readers! So if you don’t know this about me, I love to go to antique stores. I know a lot of them back home, but I haven’t had the chance to really roam around the Olathe/Kansas City area to find any within a good distance of MNU. This past weekend, I had the chance to roam. I went to an antique store called Lone Elm Antique Mall. From the outside it doesn’t look like a huge store, but on their flyer that I took after I roamed through this place, it says that have over 120 booths filled[…]
