Ways to avoid taking finals.

People of MNU Blogs. I hate finals! But who feels any differently? It’s almost like professors hate giving them too. Oh, and I have 3 today. 3! Speaking of 3, that’s the time my alarm went off this morning so I could come to Ihop to study. It seemed like a good idea at the time I set my alarm, but no matter how you spin it, studying for tests that cover everything you’ve learned over the semester is stressful! Therefore I present to you you: Top 7 ways to avoid taking finals. 7. Marry a Royals baseball player. No[…]

Wrap it up!

What a crazy semester it has been- I don’t think I can say I’ve had crazier! A few things I won’t miss about Fall 2012. No Shave November. (featured: Jordan Dages) Studying and working on projects like… a cute metaphor that is not coming to my mind at the moment. (featured: Rachel Boan) Cramming my brain with an infinite amount of ways to market products.. What’s interesting is that, all the things above are truly the things I enjoy the most about MNU as well. Any university will have No Shave November contests. Anywhere you go, you’ll spend long hours[…]

….and the campaign theme is…!

A few weeks ago I blogged about my Promotion Management class project. For those of you just tuning in, our Promotion Management class was given the assignment of creating an Integrated Marketing Communications campaign for Blue Springs Harley Davidson. After 3 months of slaving away at creating the perfect project to present to our client and about 7 all nighters later, I present to you: The introduction/Overview: “There is truly nothing more exciting than the sound of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on the highway. Whether that bike be the highlight of a long car ride across the Midwest or a short[…]

National Society of Leadership and Success

How boring does the title of this post sound? I wish I could describe the excitement that comes with this title! Allow me to try. For the first 3 weeks of my past summer I spent in a classroom learning business statistics. One of the nice things about MNU is the summer courses- you can take a class for a few hours a day and in 3 weeks you’re done with a gen-ed requirement! I digress… I was in the business office on a break one day getting coffee and a professor asked me if I would be interested in[…]

Election Week

It feels like the longest week in the history of my life. The elephant on the blog is the presidential election this week. This was my first year to vote, and I feel like an adult officially! To remind us to vote, Professor Ford wore a Romney mask to class on Monday. He said he went to Wal-Mart for marked-down Halloween items. He wanted both a Romney and an Obama mask, but they sold out of Obama faces. He then suggested someone in a Stats class see if there is a correlation between masks sold on Halloween to which candidate[…]

Cafe con Leche

This is my life!! Can I just tell you how many hours of sleep I’ve gotten this week? Maybe like 3 total every night. Some wise person once said that you can choose 2 of the following: Good grades, a social life, or sleep. Don’t get me wrong, sleeping is one of my favorite activities. It seems like I have intentions every night to be in bed by midnight. Rarely does this happen, and the nights that it does, I’m up thinking about all the things I need to do until 2 or 3 am. The point of this story[…]

Halloweekend

I’m up to my ears in projects. Homecoming banquet was on Friday. 3 sporting events Saturday. and I worked all day Sunday. ………..I wouldn’t trade this crazy schedule for the world. When I was in high school, I remember being scared out of my mind that I wouldn’t be prepared for college classes. My teachers all talked about time management and using planners. I would like to say to them that I’ve never been able to keep a planner. Every year I start out buying one thinking “this is going to be the year” and then I go strong for[…]

This past weekend, student chaplain Bri Davis and Michael Morrison, aka the face of ASG got engaged! Michael’s roommate kept the proposal a secret for nearly 4 months, and Bri’s roommate kept it quiet for about 24 hours! Way to go, pioneers! Right after the proposal, the couple headed back to Spindle Lobby for an engagement party. Congrats to the future Morrison family!

A little fun for your Friday morning…

What do you do when you find out one of your professors is turning the big 6-0? Bake cupcakes with your friends and break into his office to decorate, of course! Okay, maybe we didn’t really break into his office, we had another professor meet us and open it before he got to school, but for the sake of the story, let’s call it breaking in. Unfortunately we weren’t the only ones with the idea to decorate. Or maybe it was fortunate, because it adds to the element of surprise? We showed up and the door was covered in birthday[…]
