Sometimes Popularity Don’t Come Till You’re 82!

Let’s talk about life, baby!

I know, it’s a rare occasion when I speak of my personal life on here, but this week has been hectic, and I thought I’d share with you. First, and foremost, I don’t know how many of you know this, but my passion in life is to get my book published. It seems impossible–with studies, work, and school–but I somehow managed to write and finish a book this past year. I’ve been praying about this book for over a year, and I wasn’t sure how to end it, or if I actually wanted to get it published. For awhile, I[…]

Update! Update! Random blog post coming through!

We’re a good week into school, and, well, I figured I’d go ahead and post a random blog! Because, really, who doesn’t love randomness??? First, I’d like to show everyone my new room arrangements! I love this set up, it’s soo homey. Also, on the same note, I got a new roommate this semester. She’s quite awesome. I’ll have to do an interview on her one of these days. In other news, for those of you curious as to what my schedule looks like……here’s a picture of it! Basically, I have four classes on Monday and Wednesday–these classes start at[…]

The Perks Of Staying ON Campus

Whilst I was away during winter break, I had a lot of time to myself…like a lot of time. You know, that’s never a bad thing, but with this spare time I found myself thinking about how much I missed MNU’s campus and how life would be strangely different without it. After all, they do say: You never know what you have until it’s gone.  Welp, now that that’s out of the way, I have compiled a list of, what I like to call, The Perks of Staying on campus. Number One: Once you’ve been on campus, there’s no turning[…]

This Has Nothing To Do With The Holidays…

It has taken me awhile to find the perfect topic to blog about since the holidays have taken over, and after a week of thinking about it, I’ve decided to bring in the christian aspects of MNU–because really, that’s what MNU is all about. My favorite part about MidAmerica is how the community challenges you, and makes you think–especially when it comes to where you stand with Christ. Sometimes you don’t know where you stand–literally–and you find yourself falling. If anything, I know what it’s like to forget where you belong among many others who believe in the same God[…]

Procrasti-Nation…Have You Joined Yet?

Ahh, the sweet smell of waiting to do nothing. Yup, that’s where I’ve been for the last two weeks. I’ve been talking myself out of endless assignments because if it’s due tomorrow, I’ll do it tomorrow–not joking. I mean, the art of procrastination is an intense skill. I’ve been trying to procrastinate procrastinating, but I’m even failing at that. It’s just that procrastinating has become such a huge part of my life…I’m not sure what my world would be like without it. It would just be weird…you know? So with the help of a few Tumblr Gifs, I can accurately[…]

What Are You Thankful For?

This thanksgiving break is going to be epic! Haha, just kidding! Well, hey, It might be epic…Possibly…Like maybe if I wish on a shooting star and find fairy dust in a secret forest somewhere. Regardless of the stars in the sky, and Tinker Bell’s leftovers, my Thanksgiving break will consist of three things: Food, my laptop, and Netflix. Of course, between my food breaks, the overheating of my laptop, and stretching time between episodes of Scandal, I’ll have plenty of time to praise God for every graceful thing in my life. What are you thankful for this year? When I[…]

This Could Be YOUR RA.

At MNU, and in most college dormitories, there is an Residential Assistant, or RA, assigned to a every hall. I’d like to think that the RA’s at MNU have a special kick to them, and that they give off a sense of home–in fact, I know that there is something different about the RA’s at MNU because I interviewed one, and I know that having someone who makes you feel like you “belong“, while you’re in a strange new place, can make the world that much better. So let me introduce you to Terrin Garber: –Where are you from? Carthage[…]

TWIRP UPDATE: The Frustration Ain’t So Tough.

Howdy, blog world. I come to you with good news. In the previous post, I expressed my frustration about TWIRP week…. Not much has changed since then. Haha, just kidding. I mean, I still agree that the process is frustrating. The whole girl asking a guy out ordeal is ridiculous….but you won’t believe how many people have participated in it thus far! The girls are coming out from the dust, and guys have been asked out left and right. The TWIRP fest is taking over…I don’t know what’s happening to society, but I’m telling you: GIRLS RULE!!! I’ve seen So[…]

Tis The Season To Be TWIRPED

It’s that time of season when the leaves are falling, and the scent of college boys are lingering around in the air–it’s usually a smell of over-sprayed Axe and Old Spice with a little sweat mixed along with it. It’s about this time when MidAmerica decides to advertise their annual event: TWIRP For many of you who aren’t familiar with this term, I’m going to start off  by saying: “No, this has nothing to do with twirking.” When I came to MNU my freshman year, for the longest time, I thought TWIRP was pronounced TWIRK, and I was really confused[…]

Sometimes Popularity Don’t Come Till You’re 82!

By now, I’m sure more than half of the people affiliated with MNU know who Granny Franny is–I mean, seriously, how could you not? The Hiawatha, Kansan native spoke with me last Thursday afternoon. It was Halloween, she had just completed two test, and she was excited to show me pictures of the creepy mask she had on earlier. I laughed at the photos–this woman was stinking adorable; no wonder she was so popular, she was an easy person to love. However, This wasn’t the first time that Franny and I had conversed; we were actually quite friendly toward each[…]
