30 THINGS THAT WILL MAKE YOU A PIONEER AND NOT A SETTLER!

[three_fifth_last][/three_fifth_last] Guys, it’s time! Time to separate the reals from the fake, the Queen B’s from the Kardashians, the Pioneers from the settlers. This is what makes you a pioneer! Hopefully you can Identify and enjoy! If you’ve never had a conversation with Pope St. John, and not laugh or smile then you’re not a pioneer. If you’ve never texted your home girl (or homie) to come open the door for you, because you stayed out past curfew then you’re not a pioneer. If you’ve never had to squeeze six people into an individual study room, because all the group[…]

Have a little Fun, will ya?

I have been learning some valuable lessons about having fun this last week. It seems like it would be easy, like Oh, of course I know how to have fun, don’t you? But in reality, in the middle of the insanity that is April, I found myself focusing on the stress so much that I nearly forgot how to have fun. Tuesday the Sophomore class council threw a Napoleon Dynamite prom.  It was hosted in the tipping point in the Land Gym building on campus. The movie was playing in the tipping point, there were tater tots in the cafe[…]

KT’S HOMECOMING WEEK RECAP

Hey! So, last week was Homecoming Week here at MNU… which means every night is filled with fun, friends, and free food. 🙂 Here’s a quick recap of the events that I attended. Thursday night: Hoedown The Hoedown is something I look forward to every year. It’s basically a bunch of fun dancing, donuts from the Louisburg Cider Mill, root beer, and the crowning of the class princes and princesses! Friday night: Bonfire/Buck Night This year, ASG decided to do a giant bonfire at one of the football practice fields and then gave every student free food at the Buck[…]

5 HOMECOMING DO’s & DON’T’S

[two_fifth_last][/two_fifth_last] DON’Ts Don’t say yes out of pity. Spare the other person the embarrassment and yourself the uncomfortable feeling and just say no thanks. Don’t spend a ridiculous amount of money on the night. We’re all college students trying to pay off loans. There’s no need to impress anyone. Don’t ask a guy or girl that you just met the week of homecoming. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for spontaneity, but do you really want homecoming to be your make it or break it? (too soon, my friend, too soon) Don’t sit in the corner and not dance. You[…]

The End is (Kind Of) Near

Hey everyone! Every part of our campus is prepping for the end of the academic year. Finals are coming up, and many departments are gearing up for the final haul. I’m getting ready for finals, but also getting ready for Glow with the Flow on Sunday, and for ASG work week after that, and I’m very excited for both of those. Glow with the Flow is ASG’s annual glow party at the end of the year. It involves inflatables, glow sticks, dancing, and food. The event is the hand off event for Social Life on ASG, so as the new[…]

A Week In The Life of Sam Moore

My favorite thing to do when I come home from a long day and have already crawled into bed is to check social media: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook! So, my blog this week I decided to post things from my life in the past week to catch you guys up on what all is happening before I graduate in exactly ONE WEEK… what is life?! I hope you guys enjoyed clips of my week in rewind. I am graduating in a week and it is just absolutely crazy for me to think about. I enjoyed blogging this year and glad[…]

NSLC This Week!

Hey everyone! This week, I’m preparing to go to Nazarene Student Leadership Conference, or NSLC. We leave tomorrow, at 6am, and head from here to Bourbonnais, IL to Olivet Nazarene University, who are hosting the event this year. The schedule involves group sessions focused on leadership, as well as sessions in which we share ideas and information with our counterparts at other Nazarene universities. For instance, I’ll be meeting with the other Directors of Social Life from the other schools. There are other events, like a dodgeball tournament, and spirit events that we’ll be participating in as well, not to[…]

Cracking Down

Hey everyone, Not sure what to blog about this week, so I figured I’d just talk about what’s going on. It’s coming down to the wire here at MNU, with just a month left of school, and it seems like I have something stressful going on in every part of my life. Thursday night, we had our second Awakening. This time, we had it outside on the circle lawn, and it was SO good. The setting was perfect, and we got closer again to accomplishing what we’ve set out to do: to see our campus set on fire for God.[…]

After Awakening

Hey everyone! So, last time, I wrote about an event we were putting on called Awakening. I figured I would write a follow up entry about how the event went. After set up with the band, the grillers and the other ASG Class Council members, people started to arrive. I was pretty nervous that there would be barely any people there, but we actually had far more than any of us expected. Of course it’s not all about the numbers when it comes to a worship event, but it was a huge encouragement to see so many people there. After[…]

Be: Student Body President

So, my friend Duby (Director of Student Ministries for ASG) wrote a rap for me on President’s Day. I thought i would share it with you guys so you see a year in the life of the President and what goes on in-between all the events, meetings and other fun things we do. We are one big family and it is so fun to be able to be a part of something that challenges you. I love my ASG family and I would not be the person I am today without the journey from the last four years on ASG.[…]
