The one where it all ends!

May 13, 2013 | By | No Comments

Well….ITS SUMMER! Oh my goodness I can’t believe that summer is finally here. This year has been so awesome. I have been through so much and changed in so many ways. It has been such a crazy year but I couldn’t have imagined it any other way.

I got to live in EUROPE! I am amazed at the all the things I got to do while over there. I got to have experiences that I will never forget. I’ve been to Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and France! How insane is that?! I had the time of my life and I am so thankful for everything that my semester abroad brought about. I grew in so many ways while living in Europe and I believe that going and living abroad forces you to be in situations that challenge you and allow you to grow. I am absolutely expecting to travel in my future and I can’t wait!

This summer I am  moving to Springfield, MO because I got a job working with a church in their youth ministry. I also am getting the opportunity to be a part of a deaf community down there. I will be working on my sign language and becoming more fluent than I am now. I am so pumped. I will be moving into a downtown loft apartment with my best friend from high school. I am so excited to see what God does this summer. It is going to be great. –>  Sunny days. Hanging with kids. The lake. And making memories of a lifetime.

This entire year has been such a growing time for me and I can only hope that the years to come will be just as incredible.

It have been so blessed this year and I am so glad I got to share it all with you! If you are going to be at MNU next year – I’ll see you then! Feel free to come talk to me! I would love to meet you. :)

Learn one last thing new today: Frisbees were invented by accident. If you visit the park in the summer, you probably enjoy tossing a frisbee. This toy was created in the 1870’s as a pie plate. (Yum!) But students started throwing them around in the 1940’s – changing the use to a form of entertainment.

Thank you students of the 40’s!

Have a great summer –>  go throw a frisbee!

PEACE OUT.

SUMMA TIME!

February 5, 2013 | By | 2 Comments

I know it’s just the beginning of February and the weather isn’t quite up to par with the mid-year months, but it’s never too soon to start thinking about the best time of the year, right? Typically the summertime is full of carefree attitudes, little responsibility, and lots of adventures. I mean, with no school, no bedtime, and no guidelines things can get a little crazy, of course in a sane, wholesome, moral way!

However, this summer may be a little different. It will most likely not lack adventure, but will include hard work and some responsibility. As of now there are a few options on the table for what could happen.

1) Do nothing

2) Go back to Wichita to work and intern at a church

3) Try and be part of the PR team at MNU

4) Go to Europe for school

All of these options seem plausible and most seem to fit in God’s plan or would at least allow Him to work. It’s these times that are the hardest. It’s when you want to honor Him with all you do and there seems to be more than one “right” way. It’s not that I think God will smite me if I choose doing nothing, but I want to be placed where it benefits the Kingdom, helps others grow, and develops myself in who He is. I guess all I need to do is pray and pursue different options. Often times we need to quit trying so hard and just do something. If I wait until I’m “sure” of what I should do I will have most likely miss out on most, if not all, of these opportunities.

Don’t let the fear of failure or the wrong decision EVER keep you back from striving. God honors the fight, the desire when your heart is in the right place. I’m not saying don’t ask for direction or purpose from Him, but don’t sit on the sidelines so long that you miss the opportunity to play the game.

Life will present a lot of plausible paths, lots of questions, and numerous obstacles. Always remember to keep on and keep God
