We Are Pioneers

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the past. Not just my past, but just “the past.” Times are rapidly changing as we are all aware of, but I think it’s healthy to take a moment to breathe and appreciate where we come from. As a student of MNU, I should probably know more about the history of MNU, but don’t you worry! I’ve done my research. First off, a pioneer is someone who “is among the first to explore a new country or area” (Google’s definition). We have this phrase or motto which clarifies “We are NOT settlers, we are PIONEERS!” It’s pretty[…]

Fun at the Office

I am writing today to inform everyone how much fun it is working at MNU! On top of classes, school work, and another job, I work on campus in the best place possible: The Registrar’s Office! I was able to get the job mid last semester and started training by putting files away. I worked my way up to where I am at currently. Now, if you know me, you would know that I utterly and completely despise talking on the phone. It scares me. As the newbie, I didn’t have to answer the phone at first, but I knew I would have to[…]

A Non-Snow Day Snow Day: Life Update

Hello friends! If you are confused by the title of this post I understand.  Basically, along with a lot of the Midwest, Kansas City woke up to several inches of snow.  So snow day, but not really because classes weren’t cancelled… However, I have the whole afternoon off (yay) so I am going to pretend this latter half of the day was a snow day.  I don’t know about anyone else, but snowy days make me want to curl up and go into hibernation.  So those are my plans for the day… I am being super responsible  obviously. As I[…]

“Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future”

I mentioned in my blog last week about this cool conference called M15 that I had the privilege to attend. This conference takes place every four years in different places. The fact that it was in Kansas City this year and I was able to go as a freshman was an incredible blessing! My friend Jaque and I left Monday afternoon and headed to downtown Kansas City. MNU took care of most of the costs: hotel, the conference, and lunch on Tuesday. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel. There’s 28 floors to that thing and we were on the 17th. I despise elevators to no end because[…]

Balancing an Unbalanced Life

What does a balanced life look like? I honestly couldn’t tell you, because I don’t have one. I used to think that my life had to be balanced. That I had to have a set schedule. That I had to have everything together. Being in college has forced me to realize that I don’t have to have a balanced life, and certainly that it’s nearly impossible to have one. If I told you my priorities, showed you my calendar, and then you saw how my days actually played out, you would be very confused. But that’s okay, because it used[…]

Last Semester Ever!

Guys, this is really my last semester ever.. Not sure if I should be happy or sad about this. I have to find a big girl job and can’t skip class anymore. On the plus side, I am going to California tomorrow to meet with all the Student Body Presidents from all the other Nazarene schools to discuss topics students face at each of our schools. I also get to go surfing, so that is a plus! I will be posting a lot of pictures on Instagram so make sure you follow us @mnublogs We did a Welcome Back Week[…]

Recess Semester

Well, here we go. Just one week into the semester, I’m already getting extremely busy between jobs, blogging, homework, being with friends, and once some choice TV shows come back in a couple of weeks, there’s just no chance. *cough Scandal cough* With all the stress piling on so quickly, I think it’s time to think about the semester from a more relaxed setting.  Recess Semester. Say bye to the real world as another semester begins. At the start of the semester, things seem great, you’re hanging out, don’t have a lot of work due, staying up late, thinking this[…]

Christmas Break To Read List (Finals Week Procrastination)

Hello friends Soooooo hehehesklgkng 🙂 << I don’t know what that was about… I think I am exhausted. Well after that terrible example of writing…. How are you?  How’s it going?  How’s your week?  If I am being completely honest with you, the only reason I am surviving this week is because I know it will all be over soon and it will be Christmas break!  Finals are here, as I am sure all of you are aware.  I mean you either are the student complaining on social media or you know at least one college or high school student[…]

Christmastime in Spin 105

Hello friends! So today I have a little video because well…. We decorated for Christmas!  Yes it’s early, yes it’s ridiculous. The way I see it, we only have 2 weeks of school after Thanksgiving and that isn’t near enough time to enjoy it.  So we went all out early. Also there is some randomness at the end that I cannot explain, literally that is Spindle 105 (#spin105). Anyways have a good week and be filled with the Christmas spirit a “bit” early… Thanks for stopping by Haley

Be Blessed!

Ashlea’s Senior day! My roommate who plays soccer played in her last home soccer game of the season Saturday!  It was also French’s senior day! French is obviously from France and I got to walk with him for his senior day since his parents live in France. He has been one of my best friends for four years now and is aways making me laugh and making me smile. He is one of the funniest guys I know and is one of my best friends! When Sonic gives away .50 cent corn dogs on Halloween you obviously have to[…]
