We Are Pioneers

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the past. Not just my past, but just “the past.” Times are rapidly changing as we are all aware of, but I think it’s healthy to take a moment to breathe and appreciate where we come from. As a student of MNU, I should probably know more about the history of MNU, but don’t you worry! I’ve done my research. First off, a pioneer is someone who “is among the first to explore a new country or area” (Google’s definition). We have this phrase or motto which clarifies “We are NOT settlers, we are PIONEERS!” It’s pretty[…]

Inside Look: Musical Talent at MNU

Hey guys! So, this semester at MNU I’ve had the opportunity to meet some really awesome, unique, talented people. It’s been really fun getting to know people and finding out about their passions and talents. Through learning about people, I’ve discovered that quite a few of my friends are musically talented and love using that talent as a way to connect with people. Here’s a video of some of my friends talking about their passion for music and giving us a little glimpse of their talent. You definitely don’t want to miss seeing all the amazing talent at MNU… so make sure[…]

Christmastime in Spin 105

Hello friends! So today I have a little video because well…. We decorated for Christmas!  Yes it’s early, yes it’s ridiculous. The way I see it, we only have 2 weeks of school after Thanksgiving and that isn’t near enough time to enjoy it.  So we went all out early. Also there is some randomness at the end that I cannot explain, literally that is Spindle 105 (#spin105). Anyways have a good week and be filled with the Christmas spirit a “bit” early… Thanks for stopping by Haley

Once In a Lifetime Opportunity

Every now and then you get to do something extraordinary. Today I, along with the rest of the MNU football team have the privileged to play in the first annual NAIA Gridiron Challenge at Arrowhead Stadium. (YES! BABY, WHERE THE CHIEFS PLAY!!!) It’s also the first “Defeat all Cancer Game.” It was inspired by our offensive coordinator, Bruce Pielstick. This is a chance to not only play football, but it is a chance to affect people’s lives. There is an article on this game:MNU’s Arrowhead game declared ‘Defeat All Cancer’ game. Every player on the MNU football team who will[…]

7×7 Challenge

Hey Blog World! Here is a video from a cool academic event on campus called 7×7 Challenge. 7 Professors had 7 minutes to discuss an area of study that interested them, and then we in the audience voted on the most interesting or our favorite presentation. I included clips from every speaker and a few funny moments. Hope you enjoy!

Sunday Mornin’

Bloggers- Here is a video from my church a couple weeks ago. For those just tuning in, I go to Mission Church in Overland Park. This is Rachel and Wallace Fa’agutu, they are Hawaiian musicians and also children’s ministers. They have an album called “Little Songbirds” that I would STRONGLY recommend, especially if you know kids and want some fun worship music with an island influence 🙂 They also have a few other records here: http://rachelnicolemusic.com/discography/. This particular song is by Matisyahu called “Live Like a Warrior.” I’m a HUGE fan of their cover, so I hope you enjoy it[…]

antiqueing and sports

Hello blog readers! So if you don’t know this about me, I love to go to antique stores. I know a lot of them back home, but I haven’t had the chance to really roam around the Olathe/Kansas City area to find any within a good distance of MNU. This past weekend, I had the chance to roam. I went to an antique store called Lone Elm Antique Mall. From the outside it doesn’t look like a huge store, but on their flyer that I took after I roamed through this place, it says that have over 120 booths filled[…]
