Experience Academia at MNU’s 7x7 Challenge

How would you like a taste of academia in a fun, fast-moving format? Come to MNU’s free event for inquisitive minds. The 7x7 Challenge is an academic smack down like no other. Professors will compete to win the coveted Golden Brain award and the audience will help choose the winner.

Featuring a format similar to TED Talks, 7 MNU professors will present individual 7-minute talks on innovative topics in their areas of expertise. The event will be held in Bell Cultural Events Center at 7:07 p.m. April 8, 2014. Admission is free and no tickets are required.

“This is a fun, creative way to show the community what it’s like to learn at MNU,” says MNU Provost Mary Jones, PhD. “We hope the public will join us for an evening of entertaining enlightenment.”

The 7x7 presentations include:

The 7x7 Challenge is the brainchild of several professors including Todd Hiestand, JD, and a committee of faculty and staff representing a cross section of the university.

The event is presented in a fun and challenging format,” Hiestand commented. “Professors are used to speaking, but mostly in classrooms and large blocks of time. The seven-minute time limit also presents an opportunity for professors to challenge themselves in a unique way.”

The program starts at 7:07 p.m. in Bell Cultural Events Center. No tickets are necessary and admission is free.
