High school seniors in the six Johnson County, Kan., school districts nominated their most influential teacher to be honored by The Kansas City Star this spring. One teacher from each district was chosen. MNU alum Paul Young (’88, MEd ’92), was one of the six winners. “The teachers we look up to” features essays about teachers written by students who nominated them.

Young teaches history in Spring Hill, Kan. Senior Hailey Taylor of Spring Hill wrote "The Paper Clip Lesson," about Young's influence on her high school career. Young and his wife Hallie (Earl ’89), live in the Metro area.
