City Proclaims May 2, MNU Appreciation Day

Tuesday, May 2, 2017, was proclaimed MNU Appreciation Day by Olathe Mayor Mike Copeland (’84) at a city council meeting. MNU President David Spittal was in attendance and received the commemorative proclamation on behalf of the university.

Mayor Copeland's proclamation declared the university is one of Olathe’s most beloved and respected institutions and a “cherished cornerstone of our city.” Read the full proclamation here.

MNU recently presented the community of Olathe with the first-ever Pioneering Spirit Award to honor the individuals and organizations that were key in establishing the college in 1966 and those that have continued to provide a robust environment for growth.

“MNU deeply appreciates its partnership with Olathe,” said Spittal. “We have grown together over 50 years and now we celebrate the accomplishments we have made together. We’re grateful to be a part of this great community.”
