PR Class Plans Benefit Concert

April 15, 2013

MidAmerica Nazarene University is hosting a concert to benefit Teen Challenge April 27 at 6 p.m., in Land Gymnasium at MNU, 2030 E. College Way, Olathe, Kan. Teen Challenge is a residential program that assists teens in recovering from debilitating addictions. The event features the music of Hurley Christin and Don’t Know Dorothy with testimonies from Teen Challenge participants. Tickets are $10 ($5 with student ID) at the door.

The concert is a group project of the Introduction to Public Relations class in which students collaborate with various non-profit organizations in the Metro to plan an event to benefit the sponsored organization. All proceeds from the concert go to Teen Challenge and additional donations will be accepted.

Through Christian faith-based solutions to life-controlling drug and alcohol problems, Teen Challenge endeavors to help residents become mentally-sound, emotionally-balanced, socially-adjusted, physically-well, and spiritually-alive. The local chapter of Teen Challenge in Kansas City assists teenage girls. Click here to watch a video about the results of Teen Challenge.
