Hotel Brand Builder Speaks at MNU

Sep. 10, 2012 - by Carol Best

Hotel developer Jack DeBoer spoke to nearly 200 college and high school students at MNU Tuesday. His message on life, humility, success and entreprenuership inspired students in the School of Business. DeBoer later spoke to the Olathe business community and MNU alumni in a lecture and the luncheon that followed.

DeBoer developed apartments complexes early in his career as an entreprenuer. Then developed the Residence Inn brand and two other extended stay hotel chains. Currently the founder of Value Place, DeBoer has multiple business interests and is chairman of the  board of Wichita-based Hix Corporation.

The event was underwritten by Mark and Stephanie Challis, MNU class of 1988, of Colorado-based Directed Equity, a business capitalization and consulting firm.

Below: Jack DeBoer, founder of Residence Inn, developer and business owner humbly tells the audience at MNU to put God first and treat people with respect.
