Each year Olathe Mayor Mike Copeland (’84) selects student artwork from an Olathe school for the cover of his Christmas card. Artwork has been featured from elementary and middle school students, Kansas School for the Deaf, and Heritage Christian Academy.  This year the mayor’s Christmas card is the work of MNU junior Ashley Rogers.

Karen Hooven, assistant to the mayor, says the mayor’s office approached the Department of Fine and Performing Arts at MNU and invited students to submit Christmas artwork. Ashley’s illustration of Santa was chosen.

“Olathe loves the arts, and we are especially proud of our gifted young artists,” Copeland said.  “I am so pleased to help showcase Ashley’s great talent and our university as well. MNU is an integral part of what makes Olathe special, and our city is a better place because of its mission, commitment to excellence, and influence on our community and the world.”
