OLATHE, KAN, -- Rend Collective, number one on the iTunes chart in the US and UK, as well as No. 13 on the Billboards chart in 2014, will be at MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. Also appearing are special guests, Urban Rescue and Moriah Peters.

Known as authentic, courageous, and organic, the Christian band from the small coastal town of Bangor in Northern Ireland repeatedly says, “We are not actually an indie-folk band despite all the beards and bow-ties and banjos. We are a celebration band.”

Though they’ve shared the stage with some of the most-talented bands in the Christian genre, such as Tenth Avenue North, Chris Tomlin, and Matt Redman, they are well known for their ground-shaking hymns, like “10,000 Reasons” and “Build Your Kingdom Here.” The band will perform favorites including songs from their new album, The Art of Celebration. The night will end with a message from Gareth Gilkeson, former pastor at Rend and current bandleader of Rend Collective.

Organizations sponsoring the Rend Collective Experiment concert are MNU, College Church of the Nazarene and I am Second. The band will perform at MNU as part of the university’s Homecoming festivities, Friday, Oct. 24 at College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 E. Sheridan, Olathe, Kan., at 7 p.m.

Ticket prices are as follows:

Deluxe tickets (limited availability): $40, which includes meeting the artist; general admission: $18; groups of 10 or more $15 each, and MNU students with ID can purchase tickets for $12 in The Merc or in the Alumni Relations office. All tickets can be purchased online through http://www.itickets.com.
