Relief Efforts For Tornado Victims
In the aftermath of the Moore, Oklahoma tornado MNU would like to offer options for assisting storm victims. Olathe resident Abby Felter and her mom, LeEtta are coordinating a response to the Moore tornado. The Felter’s have a semi truck at College Church (south side of MNU campus) that they are filling with donations for Moore. The needs, according to their Facebook page, are bottled water, diapers, toilet paper, work gloves, over-the-counter allergy meds, Advil, Tylenol and blankets.
If you would like to donate, please take your items directly to the truck in the College Church parking lot before this Friday, May 24.
You can view a video from Fox 4 TV about the efforts at: http://fox4kc.com/2013/05/21/olathe-family-fills-truck-with-donations-for-okla/. The Facebook page for the effort is Olathe Loves Oklahoma.
The International Church of the Nazarene, through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, is also coordinating monetary donations for tornado relief in Moore. Donations can be made at ncm.org.
Additional efforts are ongoing with Olathe-based Heart to Heart International. Erik Unruh, a 2010 MNU nursing grad is a program specialist with the relief organization.
