Recognizing the importance for pastors to find a place in the rhythms of ministry to "get away" for a time of renewal, MidAmerica Nazarene University is offering many on-campus resources to provide this opportunity to pastors.
Rest
The Pastor's Guest Apartment is a comfortable and relaxing modern suite one queen bed, study area with Wi-Fi, living area including flat screen television with cable, kitchenette with small refrigerator and microwave, private bath, and a designated parking space. During the academic year, Pioneer Food Services located in the Campus Center, offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner including a wide selection of salads and entrees.
Recreation
For those who enjoy exercising, MNU hosts a fitness center in Land Gymnasium. For those who enjoy the outdoors, Olathe's beautiful Indian Creek 11 mile walk/run/bike Trail connects on-campus. When it comes to entertainment, the Bell Cultural Events Center hosts a wide range of concerts and productions through out the year. During the academic year, the Cook Center and Stadiums host the best in Pioneer football, basketball, baseball, volleyball and soccer. When you include the Kansas City Metro Area, there are many ways to "get away" and have fun.
Resource
Mabee Library and Learning Resource Center has an extensive collection of resources both on the shelf and online available to pastors. A private office, access to online journals and periodicals, and a 24 hour computer lab are also available to pastors who have an interest in research or long range sermon preparation.
The School of Christian Ministry and Formation offers the opportunity to visit a class, engage in a discussion group, or enjoy conversation over a cup of coffee with a member of the MNU Faculty.
Restoration
Chapel services are offered during the academic year on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. They provide an excellent way to begin a time of restoration. Weatherby Chapel provides an intimate venue for prayer and reflection. And, counseling sessions are also available for pastors who have an interest growing deeper in their relationship with Christ and with others.
