New Students

Welcome! We are so glad you chose to come to MidAmerica Nazarene University. Not only will you receive a quality education, but you will also make lifelong friendships. Once you have moved into your dorm room and settled in to campus life, you will most likely find that one of the most important events of your day will be checking your MNU mailbox. As long as you live on campus, you will have the same mailbox. To ensure that your letters from home arrive in your MNU box, please be sure to pass along the following information to your family and friends:

Student Address:

Student’s Legal Name
MNU Box 9###
2030 E College Way
Olathe KS 66062-1899

Other University Correspondence:

Department Name
MidAmerica Nazarene University
2030 E College Way
Olathe KS 66062-1899

***If parents are ordering something for the student, ensure student’s name will be on package – not parent’s name. If name does not match our boxes, we will try to make a determination, or will return it to sender.

Student Mail

Mail Delivery Schedule: Each day’s mail should be in your box by 3:00 p.m. weekdays and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (While school is in session.); no mail delivery on Sunday. Off-campus, outgoing mail should be brought to the Post Office no later than 2:30 p.m. weekdays. No mail is picked up from the Post Office on weekends

Sending on-campus letters and brochures to students

Letters and brochures:

  1. Put student’s complete name and a return address on the item
  2. Put all envelopes or fliers in BOX NUMBER order (not alphabetical order) as student boxes are in numerical order.
  3. Please rubber band, clip, or box together your mail out items so that they will remain in box number order
  4. If your items are “time sensitive” please label them with the date on which they must be in the mailboxes.
  5. Best size for brochures or one page handouts, is no smaller than one half sheet of paper or tri-folded. Cardstock is best for smaller items.
    1. ****Please avoid anything smaller than one half sheet items if possible. They are hard to see in the boxes and hard to put in the boxes.

Opening your Mailbox

  1. Turn left several times. Stop on the first number.
  2. Turn right. Stop on the number second time around.
  3. Turn left to the third number and stop
  4. Turn back right until it stops.
  5. Hold dial in place as you open the door.

If your box does not open, try again. If still unable to open box, please come to the Post Office window for help. Please do not hit your box or slam the door shut! This will damage the lock!

Forwarding Mail

When you leave for the summer break or move off campus, and would like your mail forwarded, you must stop by the MNU Post Office and complete a MNU change of address notification card. The MNU Post Office will not take it upon themselves to forward mail without the proper paperwork.

Please print the change of address card. Leave it at the post office once you have filled it out. Please be sure toinclude the 4-digit extension on the zip code.
