Career Development Center

The Career Development Center provides resources and promotes activities that aid students in identifying and developing their career-related options. We are located in the Campus Center Building.

The staff assists students and alumni with career exploration, job search strategies, and the pursuit of their future career goals. Students and alumni are encouraged to visit the Career Center, located in the Campus Center, to learn about the various services available to them. The Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 until 5:00. Drop-ins are welcome, but appointments help insure the appropriate staff member will be available to assist you.

Whether you are looking for your first job or a new career, as a NACElink Connect user, you will be able to:


  • Access job postings and employers.
  • Create and store resumes.
  • Apply for jobs online.
  • View a history of your job applications.
  • Set up agents that automatically notify you of relevant jobs.

This service is available to all current students and Alumni of MNU. Simply click on the user login link on the left hand side of the page, login, and click on the NACElink logo.

We provide a variety of services and programs:

  • Career-Related Programs and Workshops - scheduled upon request on a variety of topics when scheduled by academic departments or groups
  • Career Advising and Guidance - individual sessions, assistance with résumé writing, interviewing skills, networking, portfolio development
  • Career Resource Library - SIGI (computerized career exploration and self-assessment), job listings, books on career issues, employer information, graduate school information and exam registration booklets
  • Mentor Program - provided in connection with the Alumni Office, available beginning each fall
  • Career Fairs - Employer Fairs in the fall and spring, Interview Day in early spring, Teacher Career Fair in spring, on-going job listings for part-time and full-time employment, Mock Interview Night with alumni each spring.
  • Credential Service for Teachers - development and maintenance of professional references for employment
  • Employer Job Listings on the Web and Résumé Posting and Retrieval -employers may post positions on our Web site and view résumés, students and alumni may post their résumés on the Web Site

The Career Center offers a wide array of high quality programs, which complement the content knowledge of our academic courses. The liberal arts education provided at MNU continues to produce qualified candidates who embody strong work ethic and breadth of skill development.

[ Jeanette Downs Pettit ]
Jeanette Downs Pettitt, M.S. has directed the Career Services Office since 1990. She was a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University where she majored in Psychology and English. She completed her master's in counseling from the University of Kansas. She has been employed as a high school teacher, a college instructor and a mental health therapist. She currently assists students and alumni with their career needs including assessment, planning, employment exploration and information dissemination.
