In their own words...
Montez Willis—'12 Business Administration
"From the minute I stepped onto the campus at MidAmerica and into the life of football, I felt an excitement for the years to come. Over the course of four years, MNU Football and the entirety of MidAmerica molded me and taught me a lot of valuable things.
I want to thank the coaches for always instilling in me the message of Christ, hope, perserverance, attitude, effort, love and discipline. I came to MNU to be a football player and I accomplished that. I had no idea that becoming a football player at MNU meant becoming a better man as well. It's all about the little things that made a difference for me at MNU.
Today I can say that I am a proud man living in Olathe with a great job. I have a stronger relationship with Christ and a fantastic football resume. If there is one thing that I will always be grateful for, it is the constant reminder of discipline and hard work from the coaches and remembering the important things in life. The MidAmerica community as a whole has blessed me in a great way and I couldn't be a more proud Pioneer alum. Thank you Coach Quinn and MNU for everything."

"When I walked onto MNU’s campus I felt a real peace the came over me and I knew that this is where God wanted me to be. I look back at this decision and think about how I had to leave my family, my friends and really everything I knew, and move halfway across the country. But I could sense God’s hand on me every step of the way.
I had the opportunity to play for MNU from 2000-2003. We won 2 conference championships and had the first undefeated regular season in school history. The group of men that I played with was about as close as you could be. It was truly a brotherhood, and one that I haven’t experienced since. I had the privilege of playing in the NFL, NFL Europe, and the AFL and I can honestly say that the most fun I had playing football was playing for MidAmerica. I believe that stems from the administration and coaching staff. They put a high emphasis on winning games, but they put so much more on creating an environment that was Christ-centered and team oriented.
I have so many wonderful memories throughout my playing career at MNU, but I think some of my favorite memories are seeing my teammates who came to MNU unsaved and leave spiritually changed. I think that is what makes MNU so special…God’s presence is definitely there. MNU is rich in tradition. I am proud to say that I am part of that tradition and proud to be an alum."

"My time spent at MidAmerica Nazarene University was an absolutely wonderful experience. Being an out of state student many professors and coaches opened their homes to me. Many holidays were spent with the generosity and warmth of mindful and considerate people. They were truly inspiring people!
Upon graduation, many of those relationships came into play while I was seeking a career opportunity. Several letters of references and personal calls were made on my behalf, in hopes to see me reach my goals. I can never repay what the many people have done for me during my time at MNU.
On the athletic field, MidAmerica was always a national contender. During my time at MNU, we were fortunate to have quality coaching and some of the highest character players I have ever been around. With that combination we were able to win back to back conference championships and make multiple postseason appearances. With many All-Americans and All-Conference players, including several athletes that made it to the professional ranks, I’m always proud to say I attended MidAmerica Nazarene University."
“Thank you for your continued support of MNU Athletics and the student athletes we serve. We are proud to be Pioneers, and to honor the tradition of MNU Athletics well into the future.”
