The Church of the Nazarene…

Our Mission: to make Christlike disciples in the nations.

Our Core Values: Christian, Holiness, Missional

Key Strategy: Multi-faceted New Church Development

To begin many new churches, to seriously impact the harvest field, we must develop strategies that will yield reproducible indigenous churches. Church Planting Essentials is unique in that it explores reproducible principles that may be applied in multifaceted new church development. These principles were drawn from mission fields where the Christian church is expanding rapidly, and then they were generalized to work in every context.

Starting new churches is the single most effective way to reach people for Christ. We need to foster an enthusiasm for starting new churches through districts and local churches. Church Planting Essentials explores how to equip dynamic church planting leaders.

New works must be continually started, because individual churches don’t live forever. Today we are unable to find the New Testament church at Philippi or Thessalonica. Each church has a life cycle. That was why Paul was continually starting new ones: he knew that no one church could be counted on to exist forever. Church Planting Essentials explores how to start these new works.

The “men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do…” 1 Chronicles 12:32. This is a new day in the Church of the Nazarene; one of collaboration, networking anddecentralization. In addition to the Church Planting Essentials workshop, one can become a Certified Trainer (CT) equipped to “reteach” the materials to more and more dynamic church planting leaders. The process is streamlined and very effective. Church Planting Essentials is a step in the ongoing process of moving from addition to the multiplication of new churches.
