There is open parking during commencement activities in the College Church of the Nazarene parking lots located on the East and North sides of the church. A handicap accessible entrance is located at the north entrance that is covered by an awning.

MNU will hold Commencement rehearsals for graduates to learn about the operational side of commencement, provide last minute details, and assist graduates who are unfamiliar with the venue for commencement. All students planning to participate in commencement should attend the rehearsal.

Graduation Package Prices

Picture proofs will be emailed to each graduate 48-72 hours following the ceremony. A paper proof will also be delivered to the graduate with ordering information via the U.S. Postal service. There is no obligation to purchase.

Graduates who marked on their graduation application that they would be participating in the commencement ceremony but are no longer able to participate, please contact the Registrar’s Office at 913-971-3626 or registrar@mnu.edu, so seating arrangements can be updated accordingly. 

Graduates who marked on their graduation application that they would be participating in the commencement ceremony have the option to indicate phonetic pronunciation/clarify pronunciation of first and/or last names on the graduation application. You may also speak with the reader of names during your designated rehearsal time or send an email to registrar@mnu.edu with the phonetic pronunciation or clarification of your name. 

Can my name be read during the live streaming event if I don’t attend commencement? 

• No, commencement ceremonies only recognize students who indicate they will be participating in person. Due to time constraints between ceremonies, we are not able to add to the length of the service by including the names of all graduates. 

Graduates who marked on their graduation application that they would be participating in the commencement ceremony will receive information in late February via email regarding instructions on how to order their regalia prior to the ceremony. The deadline for ordering regalia is March 24, 2023.

I’m a graduate student. Will I be hooded at the event? 

• Yes, professors will hood graduates on stage. Your hood will be included with your regalia. Please come to the ceremony in your regalia with your hood draped over one arm. 

Graduates who want to purchase graduation announcements or class rings should contact Jostens directly at www.jostens.com or 1-800-854-7464. 

You can order announcements, jewelry, diploma frames, and other items from Jostens by going to their website. In the upper left-hand corner select Find My School/Group Store and enter MidAmerica Nazarene University. 

Diplomas are ordered by the Registrar’s Office only after all final grades have been submitted, all requirements have been met, and the final degree has been awarded. Diplomas are mailed directly to the address specified on the graduation application approximately 6-8 weeks after a degree has been awarded.
