Women's Choral Society of the University of Oslo Concert
Concert with The Women's Choral Society of the University of Oslo
Seventy years ago, The Women's Choral Society of the University of Oslo (KSS) sailed across the Atlantic for a three-month tour of the United States. This March, the choir will once again visit the US, tracing some of our steps from 1948.
KSS was founded in 1895, making us the oldest academic female choir in the world. We still honor our traditions, but also continue to develop our society through singing new music and building new musical relations both at home and abroad.
We would hereby like to invite you to our concert. The repertoire stretches from Norwegian folk music to contemporary works. We hope to give the audience a taste of the sound of Norwegian choral music, all the way from the 19th century and up until today.
Furthermore, we are proud to announce that one of our singers, the talented Sara Aimée Smiseth, will enrich our concert with some of Edvard Grieg's piano music. This year, it is 175 years since the birth of Norway's most beloved composer.
Free entrance. Donations are possible.
We sincerely hope to see you there. Heartily welcome!
This concert is free to attend and tickets are not necessary.
This event is sponsored by the Olathe Public Library.
