MNU Jazz Ensemble: Spring Swing
This open-air jazz concert features the MidAmerica Nazarene University Jazz Ensemble and special guests, the Trinity Jazz Ensemble, outside of the Bell Cultural Events Center. Admission is free but tickets must be reserved in advance. Bring a lawn chair and your own food and drinks if you like!
Founded in 1991, the Trinity Jazz Ensemble is a group of six metropolitan Kansas City musicians dedicated to presenting jazz in church-related settings for worship, concerts, or special events. Trinity proclaims and celebrates the joys of God’s many gifts to us in uplifting spirit-filled musical settings. Trinity’s repertoire includes hymns with congregational singing, spirituals and gospel music, works by artists such as Dave Brubeck, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, and McCoy Tyner, and pieces arranged or composed by ensemble members. Trinity is an ecumenical ensemble, with members drawn from various denominations, all leading professional careers as performers, music educators, the recording industry, or sound production specialists. The Trinity Jazz Ensemble is an ensemble-in-residence at MidAmerica Nazarene University.
Guests will need to follow COVID safety protocols by social distancing and wearing masks while at the event.
Donations will be accepted to help the MNU Instrumental Department
