I believe that faith and learning are intimately connected. God gave us a natural curiosity, and He created in us a desire to learn. I believe that learning, when done with the intent of glorifying God and building His kingdom here on earth, is an expression of worship.
  • 2022 Served as Project Director for $2,300 Stories of Faith: Identity Development through Story Humanities Kansas “Action Grant”, 2022-2023. Planned a series of six public humanities events—four literary discussion groups, one keynote talk, and one panel discussion—all focused on literary and personal stories of faith, exploring how reading, discussing, and telling stories can contribute to personal identity development.
  • 2021 Kansas Library Association “Health and Wellness Grant” in the amount of $1,000.
  • 2021 Humanities Kansas Speakers Bureau grant in the amount of $500.
  • 2021 State Library of Kansas “Kansas Notable Books Grant” in the amount of $300.
  • 2021 Humanities Kansas Speakers Bureau grant in the amount of $275.
  • 2021 KLA College & University Libraries Section Beginning Professional Award.

  • 2019 Served as Project Director for $5,650 Resilience Through Story Humanities Kansas  “Humanities for All Grant”, 2019-2020. Planned a series of 10 public humanities events in collaboration with the Olathe Public Library and local humanities Facilitated public discussion on the topic of how literary, historical, and cultural stories can help people cope with adverse life events and overcome challenges.
  • 2018 Humanities Kansas Speakers Bureau grant in the amount of $300.
  • 2017 Kansas Library Association Continuing Education Grant in the amount of $200.
