I studied geology as an undergraduate and worked as a geophysicist for a number of years. Psalm 19 has special meaning for me because as I studied the earth, the solar system, and the universe, I realized that all of God’s creation does indeed shout out His greatness and it reveals a great deal about Him to us. God’s nature is embodied in nature as we observe it. Studying His creation is yet another way to invite Him to reveal Himself and His nature to us personally. ‘The heavens declare the glory of the Lord and the earth reveals His handiwork.’
  • Nominated twice for the President’s Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching at Oklahoma State University, 2003-2005.

  • Received the Technology Innovator Award from the Office of Academic Affairs at Oklahoma State University, 2004.
  • Awarded the Woodfin Garrett Teaching Excellence Award at Missouri State University, 1995.
