A Luther Tree, a tree commemorating the Protestant Reformation, was planted on campus Oct. 31, 2017. The red oak tree sits on the Campus Mall in front of Mabee Learning Commons. One of several events commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the planting was attended by Olathe Mayor Mike Copeland ('84) and City Arborist Rick Spurgeon. Dr. Randy Cloud explained the significance of the tree and Dr. David Spittal placed the commemorative plaque. Associated Student Government members assisted with the planting....

On Oct. 31, 2017, the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, MNU will hold several events to commemorate the event. The public is welcome to attend each of these free events. All events will be held on the Olathe Campus, 2030 E. The Sunderland Foundation has just awarded MNU a second gift of $300,000 toward the construction of the proposed Cunningham Student Center, part of the Bright Futures capital campaign.The state-of-the-art, 50,000-square-foot multi-use building, will replace the 50-year-old Campus Center building. The center will feature spaces for meeting, a larger, enhanced dining area, outdoor areas, a fitness center and the campus store....
